     1918-Apr-11: Joined Canadian Expeditionary Force at Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
     1918-May-10: Embarked from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
     1918-May-24: Arrived at London, England.  Assigned to Bramshott Military Camp.
     1918-Oct-30: Proceeded overseas for service with 49th Battalion.  Landed the next day in France.
     1918-Nov-14: Arrived at his unit in France, 3 days after the war officially ended.
     1919-Feb-08: Removed from his unit.
     1919-Feb-13: Granted 8 days leave.
     1919-Feb-22: Proceeded to England.
     1919-Mar-08: Proceeded to Canada from Liverpool, England.
     1919-Mar-22: Discharged from Canadian Expeditionary Force at Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

1919-Aug-01: Eddie died near Empress, Alberta, Canada.  Alberta Death Register #2828.

Darwin Award winner.
He was hired by Mr. E. L. Kenny to lay a drain-pipe from his residence to a cesspool at the rear of the house.  He asked to work alone because he needed the money.  The dirt of the trench he was digging was wet and collapsed twice.  After the first time, Mrs. Kenny advised Eddie to get some planking from the basement to brace the trench, but Eddie said told her he didn't need it.  She watched him for awhile, then went to make lunch.  It collapsed a second time, burying Eddie alive.  They dug him up to re-bury him in the cemetery.
